Neighbourhood you live in: Wimbledon
Neighbourhood you work in: Holland Park
It’s Wednesday morning. What’s the scene at your workplace?
Christie: Our team works above our jewellery store in the heart of a flower-lined road in Holland Park. After a much-needed coffee from our local Italian deli, we’ll open up and make sure the store is ready for the day. We’ll then head upstairs to the office, which is beautifully light from the wall of windows that overlook the neighbouring rooftops. It’s wonderful to meet our customers and then be able to pop upstairs for a team meeting or design review.
Any restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
Christie: We love eating next door at Six Portland Road. It’s a true neighbourhood eatery, which is rare these days. This weekend, I have plans to grab lunch at Brunswick House with some friends, then I might take the kids to a Korean in New Malden.
How about a little leisure or culture?
Rosanna: I’ve been going to football with my dad for a while now and it’s a great chance to hang out with him. Other than that, I’ll head to the National Portrait Gallery for my annual visit to the Taylor Wessing portrait prize. My husband and I go each year and try to get an Italian bite at Bocca di Lupo afterwards. The perfect London day out.
Any weekend getaways?
Christie: I recently spent a while down in Norfolk with my family and we plan to go back again very soon. It’s important for me to get out of the city with the kids every now and then, and Norfolk offers fresh air, seaside walks and open space.
What was your last great holiday?
Rosanna: Japan last year was one of the most memorable vacations, though a few days in Tokyo was not enough. From the daily onsen to the food and craft, I was completely charmed and excited by the depth of their culture, rituals and landscapes.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
We bought some beautiful and rather expensive woven brass pendant lamps for the store from Universal Providers on Golborne Road. They’re stunning and create a beautiful focal point at the entrance. No regrets!
What store or service do you always recommend?
We have a recycling and repair service at Otiumberg, where clients can recycle or restore their jewellery. We encourage clients and friends to treat their pieces with care and think more circularly about their precious metals.
