It’s Wednesday morning. What’s the scene at your workplace?
Working as an independent jeweller, no two days are ever the same, with many hours spent in my workshop working on bespoke designs. On other days, I’ll be out meeting suppliers to source pieces for my collection or materials for upcoming projects – anything from antique and vintage components to diamonds and gemstones. Wherever I go, I’m also filming content for social media.
What’s on the agenda for today?
I’m working through a collection of antique stick pins and brooches that are getting a new lease of life as more wearable designs. I’m also finishing up some bespoke orders, including a set of diamond chain rings and necklaces, a favourite with my clients. I’m also planning my next sourcing trip, so expect plenty of new designs launching in the next few months.
Any restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
I’ve been meaning to try The Guinea Grill in Mayfair – I’ve heard great things, and their steak looks next level. It’s been highly recommended, so it’s at the top of my list. Villa Di Geggiano in Chiswick is one of my favourite spots for Italian food (and great cocktails!). My go-to order is a skinny margarita and their pici cacio e pepe, it’s bellissimo! The décor is really cool, and they have a beautiful terrace with vines growing all around it, giving it a relaxed, Italian feel. It’s the perfect place to spend a warm evening. No. Fifty Cheyne is also high on my favourites list. The food is always spot on, and they do a sharer beef wellington on weekends.
How about a little leisure or culture?
You’ll often find me at live music events. The Royal Albert Hall is my all-time favourite venue – the last concert I went to was Billy Ocean, who was incredible. The Cartier exhibition at the V&A was a must-see.
Any weekend getaways?
I travel a fair bit for work, all over the UK, Europe, and frequently to the US. Most recently, I hopped on the Eurostar to Paris to meet some of the independent antique dealers I regularly source from in Versailles. Both the palace and the grounds are breathtaking and definitely worth a visit. Book dinner at Airelles – it’s truly a royal feast and a really magical experience.
What was your last great holiday?
If you’re into wine, head to Cape Town. I went in February and had perfect weather, amazing sunsets and beautiful scenery. Stay in Camps Bay – there’s a great beach, a handy supermarket and really nice bars and restaurants all within walking distance. There are lots of great Airbnbs too. Hire a driver for the day and visit a few vineyards around Stellenbosch – my driver Ali was super knowledgeable, professional, and made the whole day really relaxed. As a jeweller, I couldn’t resist a visit to Graff Estate, which is pristine and luxurious. For something more authentic and rustic, I loved Muratie Wine Estate.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
It has to be a diamond lariat necklace I re-designed from a Belle Époque piece. It layers beautifully but also makes a statement worn solo. I love how easily it transitions from day to night – it’s elegant yet edgy, with just the right amount of sass.
What store or service do you always recommend?
If you’re on the hunt for vintage jewellery, Jubilee Market in Covent Garden on a Monday is well worth a visit. It turns into an antiques and collectibles market, with stalls full of interesting finds, from vintage rings and brooches to antique trinket boxes and silver pieces.
Where are you donating your time or money?
I support Woman’s Trust, a London-based charity that provides free mental health support to women affected by domestic abuse. Their work is incredibly important and often life-changing for the women they help.
